UNIDO and Japan launch a new wave of entrepreneurship trainings for inclusive recovery in Western Ukraine

Lviv, Ukraine, 18 July 2025 – As the socio-economic impacts of the war in Ukraine continue to challenge vulnerable communities, UNIDO, supported by the Government of Japan, is scaling up its efforts to promote inclusive recovery by launching a new wave of entrepreneurship trainings across Western Ukraine.

The initiative forms part of the broader project “Emergency assistance for job integration of disabled people through 3D printing technology in Ukraine,” which aims to improve labour market access for persons with disabilities, internally displaced persons (IDPs), veterans, and their families. Scheduled to run across six regions: Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Volyn, Khmelnytskyi, and Zakarpattia. The program includes over 20 training sessions and is expected to reach a minimum of 250 participants.

By combining technical and entrepreneurial skill-building with customized mentorship provided by local partners, the initiative will equip beneficiaries with the tools to launch or formalize micro-enterprises, navigate post-war economic realities, and tap into adapted employment pathways. The upcoming sessions also introduce reskilling modules in 3D modeling, 3D printing, and design to align with market demands and technological innovation.

As part of this initiative, this video has been produced to highlight how gainful employment serves as a cornerstone of dignity, independence, and social inclusion for persons with disabilities. This aligns closely with UNIDO’s mission to promote inclusive economic recovery and sustainable development through targeted interventions that leave no one behind.
